Key to Successful Speech Recognition
Speech recognition is an amazing technology that must be used with care. We do our best to eliminate external noise and match your response with the expected outcome, but here are some tips to help this process:
Don’t answer too quickly
Make sure you wait for the microphone effect to appear on screen before you start speaking your answer. If you speak too soon, we may only capture the end of your response.
Don't think out loud
Your microphone is extremely powerful and will record any sound. We try to eliminate any noise that doesn't sound like a number, but if you calculate an operation out loud, chances are we will assume that it is your answer.
Speak clearly and normally
Don't speak too fast, but clearly. If the App detects a response that doesn't match the expected result, you'll have a second or two to try again.
Avoid external sound
You don't need to be in a soundproof insulated room when using MathSpoken, but any noise will be captured. Try to avoid being close to a TV, people speaking loudly or listening to music.
